Happy Birthday Melissa!!!
I am so glad you moved into our ward just over a year ago. It has been a great blessing- I feel like you arrived at a time when I really needed a friend. We have been through so much together!!- food allergies, colic, exercise, no-car issues (for both of us! :),baby gas drops, the first cold season, teething, boot camp (okay only a week so far), thesis discussions, music, baby showers (I guess only one), morning walks, and all the fun and craziness in-between. And we've just about made it to nursery! I'm grateful for all the discussions we have had on the importance of motherhood and how it fits in with the daily grind of changing diapers and entertaining energetic little tykes; on pursuing research in our fields (one of us actually does this, the other one just talks about it...); and anything else we have on our minds. I'm glad that because of you guys, Mark and I can actually go on dates, and not worry a bit about leaving Nathan. I'm grateful for your wisdom when I get a little too intense or judgemental in my views on how life should be run. I appreciate your openess and honesty- I have learned that I can be myself around you- that you accept my weaknesses and choose to see good intent. You make me want to be kinder and more accepting. I hope your birthday is wonderful, that dinner magically appears on the table, that Andrew's nap lasts 4 hours (just this once!), and that you realize the many gifts and talents that you have that you share with others. Thanks Melissa!!!!
