Dr. Ray Graham
I have many good memories of Melissa as a student. I remember the first time I made the connection between her and Jon Landon, who lived in our home for a semester. We had become aware through Richard, our son, that Jon frequently messed up the curve on exams in electrical engineering. At first I thought Melissa must be his sister because she was also an overachiever in my class. Then I asked her and found out that she was only related to him through marriage. She could have been his twin, intellectually. It was a delight to have her in the class.
I later had the opportunity to work with her on her thesis. Again, she was the kind of student that professors love to supervise because we didn’t have to do much editing of her work. All we had to do was suggest ideas to her and they got done well without any supervision.
